  3. <P>xpdf is simply a viewer for the Adobe Portable Documentation Format.
  4. The GhostScript package, also on Skunkware, also supports the viewing
  5. of PDF files. XPDF is a very useful
  6. addition to any X11 system, especially if you browse technical documents
  7. on the Web, as many such documents are published in PDF format.</P>

  9. Leo Smiers has written decryption code for xpdf -- you can now view
  10. encrypted PDF files with xpdf.
  11. However, cryptography code is subject to export
  12. restrictions in the USA, so we are unable to distribute precompiled versions.
